It is a monastery and church built by Georgian Christians. The destroyed or worn places were immediately destroyed. It was on the verge of collapse because the restoration was not done. His condition is pathetic

Çoruh vadisinin mimari şaheseri, vadinin Ayasofyası Öşkvank (Öşki) Manastırı. 34 m yüksekliğindeki kubbesi 1000 yıl boyunca vadide yapının ihtişamını yansıtmaya devam ediyor. süslemeleriyle vadinin sanatsal bir baş yapıtı. Şu an devam eden restorasyon dolayısıyla içerisi direklenmiş durumda. Girilebilir ancak direkler hem gezmeyi hem de manzarayı engelliyor.
The architectural masterpiece of the Çoruh valley, the Hagia Sophia of the valley, Öşkvank (Öşki) Monastery. Its 34 m high dome continues to reflect the splendor of the building in the valley for 1000 years. It is an artistic masterpiece of the valley with its ornaments. Due to the ongoing restoration, the inside is directly upright. It can be entered, but the poles prevent both touring and the view.

Öşvank Church is very beautiful and derelict. Interior angle. The works stopped for reasons I don't know. I hope our state and the people of the region will take care of it.

It was made between the years 963-973. The Öşvank Church is of great importance to the Christian Georgians of the world. It was used as a mosque from the end of the 19th century until 1980. Restoration is underway, so there isn't much to see inside for now.

A brand new bitumen road has been laid for 6km, almost all the way from the main road. Well worth a visit. It was a majestic huge church in its day, but sadly is in bad shape now. There are some relict frescos and you can stand within the edifice and imagine what it was like and marvel at the giant pillars. Of interest is the angel statues on the front of the building above the main entrance - they have had their heads broken off, otherwise are in good shape.

I'm not sure this place is meant to be open to the public, but it is technically accessible (there is a gap in the barrier, not clear that is meant to be an entrance). Anyway, it's an interesting, historic monastery, even if the inside is filled with scaffolding and bird poop. It doesn't take long to get there from the main road.

It was totally closed and could't access (legally) inside. There is a massive structure to keep the original walls and part of its magic is gone now. If you plan to visit it, this is what you will fins. Visited August 2020.
