Türkiye NATO Boru Hattı Sistemi’nin NATO altyapı (ENF) programı çerçevesinde 1953 yılında inşasına başlanmış, 1959 yılında işletmeye açılmıştır.
Mülkiyeti Millî Savunma Bakanlığı’na ait olan sistemin işletme, bakım ve muhafazası görevi 20 Mayıs 1957 tarih ve 4/9038 sayılı Bakanlar Kurulu Kararı ile, Petrol Ofisi Genel Müdürlüğü’ne verilmiştir. Bu maksat için Petrol Ofisi bünyesinde Genel Müdür Yardımcılığı seviyesinde “Akaryakıt İkmal ve NATO POL Tesisleri İşletme Başkanlığı” (ANT) kurulmuştur.
Petrol Ofisinin 21 Temmuz 2000 tarihinde özelleştirilmesinden dolayı ANT Başkanlığı, 13 Nisan 2001 tarih ve 4636 sayılı kanunla tekrar Millî Savunma Bakanlığı’na bağlanmıştır

Turkey's NATO infrastructure NATO Pipeline System (ENF) program was started in 1953 to build, opened for business in 1959.
The duty of operation, maintenance and maintenance of the system, which belongs to the Ministry of National Defense, was given to the General Directorate of Petrol Ofisi with the decision of the Council of Ministers dated May 20, 1957 and numbered 4/9038. For this purpose, "Fuel Supply and NATO POL Facilities Operation Directorate" (ANT) was established at the level of Deputy General Manager within Petrol Ofisi.
Due to the privatization of Petrol Ofisi on July 21, 2000, the ANT Presidency was again attached to the Ministry of National Defense with the law number 4636 dated April 13, 2001.
