Daha önceleri 30-40 km mesafeyi kapsayan tek geçiş noktası iken 300 metre aşağısına yapılan beton gövdeli yeni köprü ile birlikte araç trafiği buraya yönlendirilmiş olup Tarihi Şahruh Köprüsü araç trafiğine tamamen kapatılmıştır. Yöre halkına ve çevresine 600 yıldan fazla zamandır hizmet eden bu Tarihî Köprü artık sadece yayaları taşıyacak. Wikipedia'ya göre; Köprünün yapımına ilişkin kesin bir yazıt yoktur. Fakat 1538 yılındaki (Kanuni Sultan Süleyman dönemi) onarımına ilişkin bir yazıt vardır. Bu yazıta göre köprü Dulkadiroğulları Beyliği'nden Alaüddevle Bozkurt Bey'in oğlu Şahruh tarafından yaptırılmıştır. Şahruh Bey bu köprüyü Dulkadiroğulları Beyliğinde Kırşehir sancakbeyi iken yaptırmış olmalıdır. Şahruh Bey amcası Şah Budak Bey tarafından 1480 yılında cezalandırıldığına göre, köprünün en geç 1480 yılında yaptırılmış olduğu anlaşılmaktadır. 1538 yılındaki onarım ise Şahruh Bey'in oğlu Mehmet Bey tarafından yapılmıştır. Öte yandan Selçuklu Belediyesince hazırlanmış olan sayfada köprünün Selçuklu döneminde yapılıp, Şahruh Bey tarafından restore edilmiş olabileceği görüşüne yer verilmektedir Köprü doğu-batı doğrultusundadır. Uzunluğu 144,5 metre eni de 5.6 metre dir. Köprü 8 kemerli olup, en geniş kemer 12 metre açıklığındadır. Köprü halen kullanılabilir durumdadır. However, there is an inscription about its restoration in 1538 (during the reign of Suleiman the Magnificent). According to this inscription, the bridge was built by Şahruh, the son of Alaüddevle Bozkurt Bey from Dulkadiroğulları Principality. Şahruh Bey must have built this bridge in the Dulkadiroğulları Principality when he was the sancakbeyi of Kırşehir. Since Şahruh Bey was punished by his uncle Şah Budak Bey in 1480, it is understood that the bridge was built in 1480 at the latest. The repair in 1538 was made by Şahruh Bey's son Mehmet Bey. Mutlaka gidilip görülmesi gereken tarihi ve eşsiz çevresinin güzelliğini mutlaka görmeniz gerekir diye düşünüyorum.hafta sonu kaçamağı ve başınızı dinlemek için güzel bir yer.
