The tombs and sarcophagi of the Lycians, who believe in the immortality of the soul and are not afraid of death, are found all over the geography. The lion sarcophagus, which should be seen at the end of Uzunçarşı street, is one of them. Dating to the 4th century BC, the symbol of Kas, the Lion Tomb lies in the shadow of a plane tree. Lycian sarcophagi look like miniature houses with their roof-to-door lids and small window holes on them. On the public side, this sarcophagus is called "blind". There are cute streets that extend from Kaş Square to the left and right. Kaş Uzunçarşı, the most beautiful of these, is beautiful enough to make people fall in love with its old houses and cats, which are embroidered with bougainvillea, which are processed as shops today. Old houses, restaurants with gardens, boutique hotels with few rooms are lined up on the streets that are connected to Uzun Çarşı, left and right. The second burial chamber in the monumental Aslanite Sarcophagus, located on Uzunçarşı Avenue in Kaş, was built from a single block. The sarcophagus, probably thought to belong to a king or commander, has a magnificent appearance made by placing two sarcophagus boats in a row. In this respect, it also has a monumental atmosphere. There is an 8-line Lycian inscription on the pedestal of the sarcophagus. Because the monument to instill fear on both sides of the cover gaping four lion's head located was called the Lion sarcophagus sarcophagus. The lion heads, which serve as watchmen, act as handles on the cover. There are two figures facing the sarcophagus. On the left is a thoughtful old figure, half-dressed, leaning against his bat and crossing his legs. On the right side on a chair, there is a female figure sitting on the lap of his hands. On the upper side, two figures from the front are shown standing. Of these, a half-dressed man has a cape hanging from his left shoulder. When you turn right after the sarcophagus, you can go to the small streets where the most decent restaurants of Kaş are lined up.

There are a lot of such sarcophagi there. But this one conveniently and beautifully stands in the city center)
