A mosque that makes a good spiritual contribution to the land of Gaggos. In the most beautiful place in the center of Elazig. It has made a great contribution to the city. The Sarraflar Bazaar under the mosque is also a nice shopping bazaar. It's pretty active. The mosque is one of the last period works and was built in the classical Ottoman style. I lived two streets above this mosque, right next to it. It was one of the mosques I went to the most when I was working as a second lieutenant teacher.

Ezzat Pasha Mosque. The commissioner to build the mosque, Haji Ahmed Izzat Pasha, the Aziz ruler of Maamoura (Elazig) during the era of the Ottoman Empire. It was completed in 1866. Its structure could not last for a century. In 1967 it was demolished by EZVAC, an institution established to renovate the mosque. In 1972 the mosque was rebuilt and opened again. The new dimensions of the mosque are 44 x 28.5 m2 (144 x 94 ft2). It has two corridors with dimensions of 8 x 28.5 m2 and 4 x 27.15 m2. The dome is 20 meters (66 feet) in diameter and its two minarets are 55 meters (180 feet) high. The mosque also includes 115 shops on the ground floor built to provide revenue for the preservation of the mosque.

It is opposite the historical old government office in the İzzet Pasha neighborhood, which is also called the Mosque. Looking at the new inscription of the mosque, it is understood that the old mosque was built in 1866 by the governor of the time, Hacı Ahmet İzzet Pasha. The place of worship, which was about to collapse, was demolished between 1967-1972 and today's İzzet Pasha Mosque was built. The mosque is in Ottoman architectural style, with double minarets and double balconies. It is the first mosque with a minaret with an elevator in Turkey. The interior of the mosque is centrally cooled, allowing the congregation to pray in peace on hot summer days. Since it is in the city center, it has a large congregation. It is managed by the foundation built in its name.
