Lozan Mübadelesine kadar Rumların yaşadığı bölgede ziyarete açık bir kilise.
A church open to visitors in the region where the Greeks lived until the Lausanne exchange.

Tarihi kiliselere yeterli özen ve önem gösterilmiyor. Yazık!
Historical churches are not given enough care and attention. Pity!

It is known that the Dim Saint Dimitris Church bulunan in the Employees Quarter of Gülşehir was built by the Greeks living in Gülşehir in 1902. Unlike the churches excavated in the previous periods, the “St. Dimitris Church yapılmış was built with cut-stone blocks and reflects the charm of the period.

Interesting old church built on a cave church (go around the back). You can get the key from the grocery store across the street. Hopefully the planned restoration will start soon.

This amazing Greek Orthodox church was built at the end of the 19th century and is one of the beautiful examples of Greek architecture in Cappadocia. The church, which was used for a short time after its construction, remained idle as a result of the forced population exchange between Turkey and Greece in 1924. Although it was used as a warehouse in some periods, the church, which was abandoned for a long time, was allocated to Gülşehir Municipality on 27.04.2011. In May 2011, Fener Greek Patriarch Bartholomeus also conducted a ritual that has not been held since 1924 in the historical church, which was the subject of visits by the second and third generation relatives of the Greeks who went from Gülşehir with the population exchange. However, the historical Greek church, which was said to be restored after a survey by the Ministry of Culture, remained without any action after that time. St. Demetrios Church, which was built with basalt and cut stone blocks, unlike the churches built by digging the rocks in previous periods in Gülşehir, is in need of urgent maintenance and repair. The epitaph of the church is in the Nevşehir Museum.
