It is a place worth visiting with its deep-rooted history. There are small windows in sections such as the dungeon, and the fact that it remains untouched takes you back to those times for a short time.

Zile İlçesi'nin merkezinde bir höyük üzerinde bulunan kale, Zile Ovası’na hâkim bir konumdadır. Günümüzde kale içerisinde çevreye dağılmış durumda  Roma ve Bizans dönemlerine ait mimari parçalar ve kitabeler bulunmaktadır. Bunlara dayanılarak kalenin Roma Dönemi'nde MS. I'inci yüzyılda yapıldığı sanılmaktadır.
Located on a mound in the center of Zile District, the castle is in a position dominating Zile Plain. Today, there are architectural pieces and inscriptions belonging to Roman and Byzantine periods scattered around the castle. Based on these, the castle was built in the Roman Period in AD. It is thought to have been built in the first century. It is written in some sources that before this, Mithriadates of Seleucid had a castle built here, and that this castle had underground passages and military-purpose structures. It is understood from an inscription dated 737 A.H. (1336) that the castle was repaired during the time of Ertena Bey, Alaeddin Bey, and a zawiya was built here with some additions. The castle is made of cut and rubble stone and its walls are reinforced with round bastions.

Zile Castle is a work that preserves its historical texture and witnesses history with its ramparts from ROME to the present day. When the Roman emperor Caesar took the Zile Castle, he wrote his famous phrase "Veni Vidi Vici (I came, I saw, I conquered)" and had this word written in the golden pages of history. If you go, you should definitely visit this castle, which dominates the city of Zile with a bird's-eye view.

It is a beautiful place where you can see the whole city from the top. It would be perfect if it was well-maintained, but it seems like it was forgotten

Zile Kalesi Castle is located in the city center of Sefa Genç-Zile and is a Roman castle from ancient times with an acropolis built on a hill. Since it is located in the center of the district, it can be viewed from anywhere in the city. It is possible to see the clock tower and other ruins inside the castle. In addition, the castle's water cistern was opened by the municipality and restored to its original condition. There is also a small Roman theater carved into the rock to the northeast of the castle. Emperor Julius Caesar, who lived in 47 BC. BC won the third war before Zile, Rome proclaimed this joy with the words "Veni-Vidi-Vici", which means: "I came, I saw, I won". Today, architectural pieces and inscriptions from the Roman and Byzantine periods are scattered around the castle. Building on this, the castle was built in Roman times in AD. It is believed that it was built in the first century. Some sources say that Mithriadates of Seleucus had a castle built here earlier, and that this castle had underground passages and buildings for military purposes. An inscription from the year 737 H. (1336) shows that the castle was repaired during the time of Ertena Bey, Alaeddin Bey and a Zawiya was built here with some additions. The castle is built of cut and crushed stone and its walls are reinforced with round bastions. We visited it on August 13th, 2021 and described and recommended it in detail in the "Travel Report Tokat 2021".

Important archeological site yet to discover fully. Place where Romans won against the Ponthos. Caesar summarized the ease of victory with the notorious quote "VENI VIDI VICI".
