While the city of Yozgat was established in the early 1760s in a field surrounded by greenery and forests of Bozok Plateau, where thousands of birds crow; The people of Yozgat were half nomads at that time and they were dealing with animal husbandry by feeding their herds, and they used to live their lives in this way. One of these herds grazing in the Bozok plateau was grazed by a Turkmen Yörgü named Sürmeli Bey. This burnt-voiced folk poet, beloved by the people, wandered in his herd through the forests stretching from Yozgat to Akdağmadeni with a pipe in his hand and his instrument on his back. Sometimes the bottom of a pine is found. He would let the strings of the saz speak and sometimes play his pipe near a stream, thinking about the lover of his heart that he fell in love with. He was a beloved, a moonshine tongue with dark eyebrows and eyebrows, whose beauty was spread over the Bozok plateau. His father was a Turkmen bey and he was a very tough man. Sürmeli Bey, by letting go of his family, makes him want what he loves from his father, the proud man does not want to give his daughter to a shepherd. Gentlemen and aghas come together, but in vain, the father of the girl and the two lovers cannot unite. Sürmeli Bey, who left his flock out of sadness, took his reed and set up a lodge for himself in the area of ​​five pine trees. He tells his love to the mountains and the trees with his burnt songs. Behind the pines extending to his tent, oba and Akdağlar, no one will see him again. What remains that he blew on his troubled pipe and made his embroidered instrument sing. The ballads of Sürmeli Bey have been echoing in languages ​​since that day.
