Nemrut dağı ziyareti ile aynı gün görülebilir. Hemen yanında ufak bir yerel restoran da var. One of the most beautiful and magnificent castles of our country. Newly restored. İlk yapılış tarihi Hititlere kadar giden kalenin bugünkü şekli Memluklular döneminden kalma olup, Osmanlılar döneminde de kullanılmıştır. Kalenin Urartu, Part, Kommagene, Roma, Sasani ve Arapların eline geçtiği bilinmektedir. Kalenin; kapı girişi üzerinde, mescit’te, doğu burcunda, ve sarayın giriş kapısında olmak üzere çok sayıda kitabeler mevcuttur. Kale giriş kapısı üzerinde yer alan yazıtta Memluk sultanı Kalaun’un, mescitte bulunan yazıtta Melik Eşref Selahaddin Halil, sarayın giriş kapısındaki kitabede ise Melik Nasır’ın adları geçer. Kale içinde Mescit, Hapishane ve zindan, posta güvercinlerinin yetiştirildiği kule, sarnıçlar, hamam ve Kahta Çayına (Nymphaios) inen gizli bir su yolu bulunmaktadır. Está cerrado y al final, por hacer algo, caes en la trampa de tomar algo en un café que está enfrente. El propietario es aparentemente profesional y simpático pero los precios son totalmente abusivos, con lo que te quedas con muy mal sabor de boca. Además, por hacerle un favor incluso le habíamos comprado un tarro con café de pistacho que hacen en la zona pero lo tuvimos que regalar porque el embalaje no era ni seguro ni higiénico.
