Beware - a man is now stationed at the entrance and demands an entry fee. Mind you - entrance fee ONLY is demanded from foreigners. I very carefully watched a group of Turkish tourists go in without paying anything, not showing MuseeKart or any other pass. This is a shameful double standard - you're better than that, Turkey!

Excellent remnants of past Roman days. Plenty of pillars and columns, the theatre is in good shape and definitely worth stopping and wandering. No guards, no entry fees, just wander around. Loved it.

Well preserved ruins of ancient city

This ancient ruin sits quietly next to a small town - the drive up there was easy, things are well preserved there. We went in late November, weather was good, temperature was comfortable; since it was off season, we were the only visitors there, which was pretty awesome. If you happen to be near Silifke and are up for a half-day trip, this place is highly recommended.

About 1 hour drive from Silifke but well worth it. The residents of this town are very nice and friendly. The ruins tell an interesting story from history, and I like that the locals have chosen to preserve it as is rather than focusing too much on developing tourism.

We enjoyed our visit to the Zeus Temple here. There is also an arched gate and another structure. If you walk away from the parking lot (to the right if your back is to the parking lot) down the main road, you'll find an amphitheater on the right side. It doesn't take too long to visit the site--maybe 30 minutes total. There are bathrooms at the ticket counter (including a Western toilet) and a small parking lot. No cafe. There are informational signs in English and Turkish.

Temple of Zeus ?️⚡ Really cool ruins directly next to a crazy small little village. The temple of Zeus back in its day was absolutely massive! The columns that made this bad boy up are so wide it would take at least three bear hugs to cover these circumference of these massive stone pillars ??? I love how the west entrance to the city is a beautiful triple archway with a Turkish tractor broke down in front of it hahaha This is not by coincidence... There's an actual functional farm just behind this set of ruins ??‍?? The ride out here on the motorcycle was absolutely spectacular coming up the mountainside from the Mediterranean coast ?????

We found this place to be incredible, it has about 30 columns standing. the most that I have seen anywhere. The site is in very good shape, when we were there people were working taking measurements. I can assume that there is still lots to learn about this place. There is a theater as well but it was closed to the public when we visited. There was no cost to visit and we definitely recommend visiting, you will be amazed. 3btraveler
