Eczane Türk Dil Kurumunun sözlüğünde ilaçların yapıldığı ve satıldığı yer olarak tanımlanmaktadır. Eczane kelimesi Arapça 'Ecza' ve Farsça 'hane' kelimelerinin birleşiminden oluşmuş ve zamanla evrimleşerek eczane olarak kısalmıştır.
