Utopia Lodge Hotel

Beautiful location, with friendly people. Happy to help and speak very good English. Will be happy to go back for a visit. Camel rides depart and arrive back there. Would also recommend that trip

We stumbled upon this place and Kayakoy itself by pure accident when we booked a camel ride through an agent in Hisoranu. The chap that owns the place came and picked us up from the hotel and took us here. We started the camel ride from the hotel and went around ghost town. The camels were lovely and I even got to stroke one as i was riding the other. We had a lovely ride and it was nice to see ghost town. 2 guys took us out on the ride. One guided the camel while the other took photos of us. At the end we had a the option to buy the photos at a very reasonable price compared to some of the other trips we had been on. The only issue was we couldnt manage to get them straight on the phone due to some technical issues but they were made onto a DVD for us and I can easily do this when I get home. We sat in their bar while he was uploading the photos from his camera to the laptop and had a nice chat with the barman. The drinks we had were cheaper than what we had experienced in the major tourist areas so far. At the end the barman, Auron (dont know if I have the spelling right) suggested we come back on our last night and try the food in the area. We did this and he was happy to suggest a place which was amazing. We then came back after dinner and had a great evening. They were happy to call us a taxi at the end of the night. What was great about this place and the Kayakoy area was that it felt very honest and relaxed. While we had enjoyed our time in turkey it had often felt in other bars and areas that conversations were forced and false where as the Utopia Lodge offers a relaxed atmosphere, genuine people and a stunning backdrop. I would definitely love to revisit.

We spent there a couple of nights in low season. The room had fare price and the town is nice (although a bit remote if you don't have car). Nevertheless, breakfast starts late (9am that became 10am after half an hour waiting...) and do not expect a warm welcome or much help from the owner.

We believed the comments and high rating on booking.com and were shocked when we arrived. We were planning to stay 6 nights but decided to leave immediately after one night at this place. Yes, the village and places around are nice but the hotel is absolutely neglected by the owners who seem to be more interested in the bar rather than in the hotel. The wall in our room had a crack, the door into the bathroom was broken and wouldn't close, there was moss on the wall in the bathroom and another crack in the decoration of the wall, I found a bunch of hair on the floor in the bathroom and left part of mine in the shower due to the cracked shower tube... Loud music in the bar just in the front of the hotel continued till 11 pm. The breakfast started at 9.30. only, was quite poor and there was strong odor of camels at the breakfast zone... All the furniture outside is old and dirty so you don't want even to touch it. It was impossible to find the appetite to eat the breakfast as well as any desire to stay there any longer. I saw the comments that the price is fair for that place. Absolutely not! For the equal price we managed to find a great clean quiet and neat place with king's breakfast and absolutely lovely host in the next town 10 minutes from this place by car. Absolutely not recommended to stay in Utopia. Not to mention that they took the payment in advance and we were additionally fined by a one night price for our desire to leave.

This is one of the places that I would definitely remember in a long run! The place gives hippies vibes and sense of freedom. The staff is very friendly and breakfast was perfect, especially for Veg friends. Our room was excellent, large and quiet. The bed was really comfortable, and we had a good sleep. The best part of the whole experience was the closeness with animals, Duka ( the owner's dog) was a good entertainment and camels were really cool and extraordinary.

Restaurant employees took care of our luggages which is so kind. We ate lunch when we come back. Housemade hamburger was so interesting, but they cook max 25gr meat in it. Price is too high and its not even delicious. We ordered 6 porsion of hausemade hamburger. All of them were terrible. You can drink but dont eat here

Very friendly owner and had a lovely time drinking a beer with some of the local expats in the bar. Bed was extremely comfortable and shower had good pressure. Breakfast was good as well. Incredible value for money. We also loved feeding the donkeys and camels apples!
