 It is one of the old historical mosques of Safranbolu. It used to be a church. I think when the Greeks left these places during the population exchange, it was turned into a mosque. It has a mystical aura. Man becomes something else. If you are looking for peace, I say go for it.

Içeri girdiğinizde mihrabın çarpraz şekilde duruşundan hemen anlayabiliyorsunuz.Safranbolu’nun Kıranköy semtinde Safranbolu’nun Kıranköy semtinde Rumlardan kalan ve 1956 yılında camiye çevrilmiş bulunan eski kilise, kentin en önemli mimari eserlerinden biri olarak göze çarpmaktadır. Ulu Cami, kiliseden camiye çevrilmiş gerçek bir sanat eseri olup birçok tamirat geçirmiş olan yapı, 2014 yılı itibariyle de restorasyon çalışmaları sürdürülmektedir. Rumlar zamanında 1872 yılında kilise olarak yapılan bu yapının adı Aya Stefanos’dur. Vakti olan herkesin uğramasını gerektiğini düşünüyorum.
