★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It is located 2 km from Cevreli Village (Tirmisi), between Kaş and Demre, near Cevreli Village in Demre district of Antalya province. east of it. It is thought that the name Tyberissos comes from the Luwian language and is related to settlement.
There is not enough information about the history of the city. Apart from the traveller's notes, no adequate surface research and archaeological excavations have been carried out in the region. However, based on the inscriptions on some of the tomb monuments seen in the vicinity, BC. It can be thought that the city existed in the 400s. This city is spread over the hill. Since the northern peak of the hill is higher, it is thought to be an acropolis. In addition, remains with stones in the Rectogonal technique, which are thought to belong to the inner castle, were also encountered here.
There are also inscriptions and grave monuments in the vicinity, which is thought to be a residential area. Although these tombs are mostly in the form of sarcophagi, there are two house-type rock tombs with inscriptions in Lycian language. One of them is near the hill and the other is on a mountain foot near the Tirmid Plain, dating back to 400 BC, with male and female figures on it. On the slope of the Acropolis, the tombs carved into the rocks resembling a pigeon's nest attract attention. In a superficial research on these, it is understood that the city was built and lived in the Hellenistic and Roman ages.
