The lady was working behind the counter was nice and helpful. Or so I thought. I walked in to get an offer that was advertised on the front door. She asked for my paperwork or ID. I gave her my passport. She made a phone call (she ended up making about 7 or 8 phone calls throughout the interaction) and said I will need to pay 200 Turkish Lira. I know my son paid a lot less at the airport and got a new line under his name for 30 days as a tourist. He story is very long so I have skip some parts. She had hard time with their computer system accepting info from my passport and Visa! She later said it was 250, not 200. Almost 3 hours into it, she called her boss again, started entering information about a different person. I told her that is not me. She said it is okay the will work now..... I paid the 250 t.l. plus a tip for all the time she spent with me! The phone with a new SIM card didn't work. She oh, now I need to money, 80 Turkish Lira for it to work. Now that sound like a scam, but I was too much invested in it. I paid 80 TL and she gave me a receipt, but not for the 250 TL. I received 16 phones calls the following 24 hours from people telling that the phone number I have belongs to aldy relative who had the phone number for 4 years! 24 hours after the line was activated, the line was dead! Money evaporated. I would avoid this dealer location next time and probably avoid Turkcell all together. I like Turkey and the Turkish People but incident left a bad taste in my mouth!
