★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Perfectly good place. According to to document sources, the history of Trabzon goes back to fifth century BC. Most of the towers which are the oldest monuments of the city still survive today. The oldest part of the day's towers date back to 5th century AC in Roman period.

Its stones were precious and mysterious because they were come from the temple in about BC 2000 times. Besides there were many hidden tunnels and gates through the castle to the Blacksea. Many historical heroes lived there and now their souls still live there...

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ There is “NOTHING” here except outer walls! Waste of time - Entrance was hard to find as there were so signage! But we could not enter into the castle as it was dirty and difficult to proceed due to unmaintained plants blocking the way! No Information displayed about the castle!
**Tourism ministry within Trabzon should restore such a historical asset and turn it into an attraction!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It’s a ruined castle, so do not expect much of details.
However, being close to the valley and in the heart of Trabzon gives this castle a magnificent majestic view.
Best thing to do there is to wonder around and walk with friends or family.
