Toros Dondurma

Dondurması çok iyi, kredi kartı geçiyor, oturacak alanları var, fiyatı uygun ( külahı baya bir doldurdular 5 tl idi. Bir kaşığına 3 tl isteyen çoğu yere göre baya iyi).

Maalesef yorumlara bakarak gittim lakin bir dondurma gurmesi olarak beğenmedim. Aşırı şekerli ve bir müddet sonra batıyor vişneli olan Tang TOS içecek tadında ve keskin dondurmanin renkleri doğal renkten çok uzak..

Ever since Seattle's Fratelli's ice cream closed shop, I have not found an ice cream brand or shop that I could unreservedly call myself a fan of. I judge the quality of ice cream based on standard flavors: vanilla, strawberry, chocolate and, especially, peach. At Toros Dondurma they offer a wide variety of flavors (plain, lemon, cocoa, mixed fruit, kiwi, çilek, cherry, banana, caramel, böğürtlen, almond, raspberry, tahinli, portakal, blueberry, şirinler, ingirli, melon and neskahveli). I wanted coffee but was told they didn't have it at the moment, so I opted for strawberry and "sade" - plain. Both were delicious. I was then offered a bowl with a variety of flavors and resisted at first, given that I had my heart set on trying their peach ice cream (which I was told they had though it wasn't among the flavors they had out on the floor at the moment). I was definitely glad I relented, since all of their flavors were delicious, especially the tutti frutti. At last they brought out a large, fresh vat of peach ice cream and topped off my bowl of many flavors of ice cream with two scoops of peach. As soon as the bowl was brought to our table, the first thing I did was to remove the two scoops of peach ice cream to a separate bowl so that I would be able to savor them at the end. I was so glad I did, for the ice cream was truly outstanding, nothing like anything I had ever had before. It was incredibly dense, with very little air, and melted relatively slowly. It was the very essence of peachy flavor, and I ate it as slowly as I could in order to prolong the experience. Alas, I finally swallowed the last little bit. Afterwards (as the friend of a relative of the owner) I was given the opportunity to see where the cream and sugar are combined and cooked for many hours before being placed in a cooling machine and then finally mixed in a third machine with fresh fruit or nuts. (I was told that only a few flavors of ice cream are available during winter months, since they insist on using fresh ingredients.) No wonder Toros Dondurma has been in business since 1980! If only, if only they had a shop in Seattle! Since they're unlikely to open one, I guess I have no choice but to make a return visit!
