You need to be dedicated to go there, as it is a little bit in the middle of nowhere ;) but it is worth the trip - it is well preserved. Take the time and visit the place once on Turkish riviera :)

The ancient city of Selge is located in the current village of Altinkaya. The amphitheatre is definetly the best preserved structure of the ancient city, but you can see traces of the ancient city in the area surrounding and within Altinkaya. We were there as part of a guided tour, so it was not the main stop on our trip. The villagers will approach you with items to sell. I talked a little bit with an older woman named Emina, she was very kind, told me some history about the theatre and the village. I bought a knitted hat and a pair of socks from her which liked. After we had explored the theatre and taken in the views we got served a local tea made of Sage and Oregano, that tea was really good! All in all it is was a nice area, and I wish we had mord time to explore a little bit longer.

It is, in fact, ancient place. Maybe interesting for someone who like this kind of things. But unfortunately not for me. I was there only because it was one of the point our canyons site seeing tour.

Quite nice sight, but very annoying and pushing selling women with little respect and overpriced goods! If you have seen other theaters you can skip it. The view however 5km before the theater is worth driving up there.

the place is a bit far but worth it, if you wanna see the historical place. the villagers there were kind and friendly. the place was beautiful all in all.

Very peaceful site, by looks, half circled, this amphitheater was served like a theater not for gladiator fights. I would say, despite one side is totally ruined, the spectator side looks still in good shape. I wonder can this place be reconstructed? Most likely not, but you never know. And maybe even to be put on UNESCO list. It's really ancient site, and you can even think about last people who went to see show, not knowing they are the last one which can enjoy in this. Site is very hard for people to climb on those big stones, entrance is free. Road is very narrow, but you can manage to go all the way up, even with camper. Shepards with goats, cows, cats, dogs, and local inhabitants trying to sell you something, you can bargain, sit and drink something, help a bit this rural area. ?❤️??
