Frankly, I never approached this market. It is a pity that a place that has survived from the 1800s to this day ... Katip Çelebi (1608-1659) writes that "Cihannüma" has a small bazaar in Samsun. According to this, it is understood that there was a bedesten in Samsun in XVI I. Century. On the right side of the city walls of the Samsun Castle, there was a bazaar with forty-four shops adjacent to the walls. The top of this bedesten was arch-shaped and closed. In 1864, the bazaar was repaired and some shops were turned into doors, and a door opening into the castle was opened in the east direction with four doors opening to both sides and iron doors and the number of doors reached seven. Although there are inscription places on the upper sides of the doors of Samsun Bedesteni, it is not known on which date it was built because the inscriptions were destroyed. Sarrafs, Antique dealers, gold and silver, goldsmiths and goldsmiths were present here. But over time, some of the artisans in the bazaar transported into the bazaar, they left the bedesten and left their place to people who do business at a smaller rate. Bedesten day by day lost importance. For a while Beyat was used as Sunday. The bedesten was opened in 1910, and some shops were added to the big buildings since 1914. Today, Bedesten has two separate arched doors facing Ziya Gökalp street and Nam Kemal k Kemal street, which is also located in the Kale district. It is still used as a shopping center.
