Takyeciler Mosque in Tokat The mosque is located on Sulu Sokak opposite Yağıbasan Madrasa and next to Tokat Bedesten. Although no definite dating can be made, the similarity of the plan with the multi-domed 15th century Ottoman mosques and the material, technical and form characteristics seen in the minaret base indicate that it was a 15th century structure. The mosque was repaired on H.1288 (M.1871-72) and during the First World War. In the repair of the World War I, the roof was closed with a broken roof because no lead was found to cover the domes. The fountain adjacent to the west of the mosque was also renovated on H.1312 (M.1894-95) according to the inscription on it. The building was built on a slope; It is a rectangular plan with a square and a multi-domed Ottoman mosque. The harim, which was entered by the gates on the western and northern fronts; the center is divided into nine units with pointed arches thrown on four independent pillars and eight wall pillars, and each unit is covered with a pendant pass dome. The domes rest on the octagonal pulley. The pulleys of the domes on the mihrab axis are higher than the others. In front of the entrance on the west side, a place thought to be the last congregation was added. A small number of windows are kept very small. On the western side there are two, on the north side and on the eastern side adjacent to the bedesten there are triple windows on the upper level and on the south side there are double row windows. The minaret with square base, cylindrical body and single balcony adjacent to southwest corner has been renovated above the base. The body walls and dome pulleys of the mosque were renovated with rubble stone. The pillars and arches bearing the domes were built of cut stone and the window arches and frames and the domes were made of bricks. The material of the altar and pulpit is also stone. In the minaret base which is the untouched part of the structure, rubble stone and brick and irregular alternate technique were applied. In the harim, there are traces of pencil decoration on the arch surfaces on the free piers in the middle (Uysal, 1987; Seçgin, 1993; Mercan-Ulu, 2003).
