Tabakhane Mosque

A very decent place

A beautiful mosque with a stone engraving says, “The prayer one performs with the congregation is twenty-five degrees more virtuous than the prayer that he performs in his house or in the bazaar. This virtue is as follows: If one of you takes ablution well, comes to the mosque just to pray, a reward is given for every step he takes until he reaches the mosque and a sin is erased. When he enters the mosque, he gains reward as if he is praying as long as he waits for prayer. Angels pray to this person. As long as he does not torture anyone and his ablution is broken; 'My God! "Forgive this servant, have mercy on him and accept his repentance." (Abu Dawud, Salaat, 49, I, 378)

Mosques are already peaceful places

We didn't visit the mosque but the street next to the mosque is very attractive. Worth a one-hour or two-hour sightseeing tour of the surrounding streets. Bustle and vitality and a variety of shops.

Rear top with mahfel and half dome covering it Trabzon Tabakhane district, located next to the Tabakhane Slope. It was built in 1533 by Mahmut Aga Ettavashi, one of the Babussade aghas of Yavuz Selim. The mosque could not survive in its original condition and was restored in 1618 by Hacı Mahmut Ağa. This was followed by the 1888 repair. The mosque was built with thick cut and rubble stone walls and had a square plan and was covered with a roof. At the north entrance was the last two-storey congregation, with a single minaret with a balcony. However, the mosque could not survive with this condition. It was demolished in 1978 with the approval of the General Directorate of Foundations by the Association for the Protection of Mosques and was replaced by the present mosque.

This mosque, built in 1987, is located next to the historic tannery bridge. It is located at the beginning of the famous long street.
