A great spot to watch the balloons from during sunrise, there is an entrance fee for 10 Turkish liras. The balloons usually starts taking off around 5-6 am .. the place is a little bit crowded so I’d recommend somewhere else if you want to watch the balloons peacefully

A pleasant place to visit. If you are lucky enough then you can play with different ? playing there. Usually, the place gets crowded with people coming to watch the sunset.

About 20 years ago, I visited this place on my graduation trip from college. We went sightseeing around Cappadocia, and this was the last place we visited. I was able to see a tower that stood out in the distance. After that, we went into the same shoe shop with other tourists. It was a little different from the image we have of the same shoes in Japan, with holes in various places, both horizontally and vertically, making it look like an ant's nest.

The Sunset Point in Goreme is a high rock with Turkish flag you see above the eastern part of Goreme town. It is accessed via a steep uphill climb and stairs with a 3 TL entry fee at the kiosk down on a street leading to it. The rock is oriented westwards, hence the name, and offers a terrific view of the whole Goreme town and the valley around

They illegally charge tourists 5 lira. I asked to show their license or I’ll call a police. They don’t have any license and they only scream “PAY! Pay money!”. I refused to pay and just walked up the hill, angry man showed me middle finger and walked away (which only proves that it’s illegal). Don’t support these scammers. They earn money illegally (its even written on Wikipedia that it’s illegal and people should not support this dirty business). People have the right to walk freely uphill, it was free all years until 2021. I also noticed that they don’t charge Turkish people this fee and let them just go for free, they charge only foreigners. Views are amazing!!! In April we woke up at 5:15 and walked uphill. Balloons were going up at 5:50. Get dressed very well, it’s very cold to stay there and watch. Sunrise was around 6:10 in the morning.

We couldn't see the balloons on the day we visited due to heavy winds and couldn't get a good glimpse of the sunset either due to the weather. But it was good nonetheless. Amazing view of the village and the valley. It was 3 liras to enter per person and there were no facilities up there. There was one turkish ice-cream man trying to sell all by himself whilst everything else looked deserted. A random stranger even tried to take a good picture at the location and taught me a new pose.

Great place to see the balloons! Woke up at 5:30 and went on top of the hill. Easy to walk up, and a wonderful view where you get the sunrise as well! Some balloons also floats by right next to the hill! This is my highest recommendation in Göreme!!!
