Sunset restaurant kalkan

Probably our most disappointing meal of the week in kalkan..food was pretty average. Ordered the mix meze starter which was a plate of dips so expensive for what it is. The owner sold us the 'traditional' hot sizzling dish which was very obviously a casserole that had been transferred to the sizzling pan after as it wasn't piping hot or particularly nice. My partners meal was slightly better. Fresh lemonade was lovely. No appetiser e.g bread given prior to the meal which we've received everywhere else in kalkan

We truly enjoyed our dinner at Sunset. I can esp recommend the mücver as a starter and the seabass with auberine puree (beğendili levrek) was out of this world. The service was good and friendly especially Yavuz, the proprietaire. My husband and I shared a quite delicious banana cheese cake which came with a little bit of a surprise. A bit on the kitsch side, but ok :-). Overall we created another good memory.

Excellent meal near the harbour. Yavuz and his family are lovely and we were served a beautiful meal. Fish cakes and filo pastry filled with salami and cheese for starters. Both delicious. Stuffed Calamari and Meatballs Casserole both divine. Depth of flavours and tenderness were amazing. For a nice special touch we had our names piped in chocolate on a plate of his wife's homemade cheesecake. The cheesecake was light and one of the best I have ever tasted. Yavuz is friendly and enthusiastic to ensure his customers have a great time. It is good to see a family restaurant run with love and care. I wish them well in what is a competitive market. The food they serve and care they show makes them a top restaurant in Kalkan.

Had an absolutely lovely meal here! Service was super friendly without being overly attentive. Would definitely recommend the lamb stew done in the clay pot, the moussaka and the mixed mezze as the starter. Also as the name suggests the view was outstanding.

While we had a good meal here, with most of our choices going down well with our group, it was not all sunshine and roses. We were a group of 11 who went for dinner (We did not really need the reservation we had made as the restaurant was half empty). Our table had a good view over the bay. Sadly, the service was very slow, mainly due to the fact that this is very much a family-run business. This is its strength and weakness to be honest. Very friendly but just too slow for us.

Probably the best seafood dish we ate all holiday. Very attentive staff. Lovely views over the harbour.

The hottest acili ezme in Kalkan and their Saksuka is simply divine. Sunset is a family owned restaurant where you can taste proper home made Turkish food. Yavuz and his wife Gulay are really lovely people and their will make you feel at home. I strongly recommend their mussaka - the best I had in my entire life! And their home made lemonade is to die for!

This was one of the best places we ate at in many turkish towns we visited not only Kalkan. The restaurant was not crowded as other famous ones in Kalkan, yet I was surprised with the service, the service and the above all the taste, it was truly homemade, well presented yet different than many others we have tried. This is one place on my list that I would gladly come back to. Thank you really for the hospitality, the phenomenal taste and the fantastic view
