★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Sultan Han was a really cool pit stop on the way from Konya to Cappadocia.
The building used to be a caravan stop on the Silk Road back in the day. You can wander around where they used to keep the camels throughout the courtyard and in the main hall.
The main hall and the entrace make this place a must see if you're in the area. The entrance has ornate stone carvings and the main hall has the columns you see in all the photos.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is the Caravan “hotel” or Caravansay along the Original Silk Road from China to Europe. These were about 25km apart which was equivalent to the distance travelled on one day on foot by the caravan involving camels. This caravansay is being restored and you can see the areas for humans and their animals (presumably camels) for rest. It is certainly a very interesting building to visit.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A stopover for ancient caravans traders and modern day tourist. No entrance fee and restoration just completed. Almost bare inside with just columns and a small dome to appreciate.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Turkey is filled with great sites but I wouldn’t say this is the top of the list. We stopped on our drive from Antalya to Goreme as it was just off our route. It’s a nice place for a quick visit but I wouldn’t make a special trip to see it. The entry fee was 10 TL I believe and we spent about 20 minutes there exploring the grounds.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A unique place with rich history where I the past traders would stop here for the night to rest. The caravan seray is also one way in one way out to protect the occupants from whatever happens outside.
