Small House Küçük Ev Restaurant

The Small House is just that SMALL but the dishes we had were really tasty especially the mixed seafood casserole. Ask for more delicious bread to soak up the juices. There is a reason this restaurant is so popular the couple that own/run and cook here are dedicated to giving you the best Turkish culinary experience.

I am sat in Small House as I write this review between the first course and main. It is awesome. Jan and his wife along with all the staff are so nice and the food is something to die for. Very fresh, very welcoming. My son has just gone to the kitchen to watch his food cook. A very special experience indeed. Thank you.

Just had a lovely meal here. Booked a table about 6 weeks ago (as you need to book well in advance) and it was well worth it. Small as the name suggests but you don't feel cramped in any way. The food was delicious and the owners were lovely ?

We absolutely loved this place. Truly one of a kind ! Book early and consider letting the owner pick your food for youn and don't forget to try the amazing dips (they might even let you take some home). We are booked in again next week and can't wait ?.

Incredible service from a wonderful family run restaurant. We booked way in advance and were not disappointed. Beautiful food (veggie meze for two plus halloumi, prawns and breads), wine and great setting on the balcony table. Thank you so much and hope to visit again.

We had meze, mixed seafood casserole, fish on the grill, fried calamari and chicken schnitzel. All was excellent and very well presented. The tables are on the very narrow street. Service was very good. We had complementary ice crime which was a surprise and very delicious. We can recommend this small place. Reservation recommended.

Popped in initially after reading all the rave reviews. Got to the top of the stairs to be confronted by a small dining area (full!) to my left, and what was clearly the kitchen to my right. A couple who were just paying, offered their view of the place. "Best place in Kalkan by far. If there's just two of you, book the balcony" Managed to get the ear of the waiter (son of owner, as it turned out) and enquired as to when it would be available. Watched apprehensively as he turned the pages, finally finding a free spot on our final evening! Convinced it was meant to be, booked it for 7:00pm and descended the stairs to break the good news to my partner Janet, who was still being badgered by the owner of the restaurant opposite. We suddenly realised that the Small House is probably the only restaurant in the Old Town that doesn't have someone outside trying to drag tourists in, and clearly relies on reputation and word of mouth. Our final evening came all too quickly. We turned up about fifteen minutes early and were welcomed by the owner who ushered us through to be seated at the table on the small balcony. Let's just say two people ideal, four would be a squeeze. Let's also state that the food was brilliant, the service faultless, with the son at one point introducing the cook (his proud mum) to us. Having already had a starter and main, we managed to make room for a complementary dessert. Seemed the only way to finish was to order a Raki each. Check out my photo for the way it was served. Probably a good thing that we hadn't known just what a brilliant aperitif this is, otherwise we'd have spent a small fortune on it during our two weeks in this magical resort. However long your stay here, make the Small House an absolute must visit.
