SINAN-I UMMI (V.1067H./1657M.) He is the sheikh of Niyaz-i Mısri (V.1105H./1694M.), the founder of the Mısriyye branch of the Halvetiyye Sect. His full name is Yusuf Sinan-ı Ümmi, and he was more commonly referred to as "Ümmi Sinan" or "Sinan-ı Ümmi". Although the exact date of birth of Sinan-ı Ummi, who was born in Elmalı, is known, it is estimated that he was born between 1563 and 1567, based on some sources. Sinan-ı Ümmi, who completed his first scientific education in the madrasahs in the region, received his mystical and spiritual education from Eroğlu Nuri Hz., who was a student of Vahibi Ümmi, one of the sheikhs of the Halvetiyye Order, and was buried in Alacadağ, Finike-Turunçova. As a professor, he gave sermons and advice to the public on various occasions in the region. On the other hand, he gave moral, spiritual and mystical education in his lodge, which prepared his followers for union with God. Sinan-ı Ümmi took the seven names, which were considered to be a method in Halvetilik, from the sheikh Eroğlu, and after his death, he completed the five names, called furu, from the other caliph of Vahab-i Ummi, Sheikh Ömer Mazhari. It is known that he had two sons, Sheikh Süleyman (Hakırı) and Selami Halil, and that both of them became the sheikhs of the lodge by getting the caliphate from his father. 25 Cemaziye'l Ahir The tomb of Sinan-i Ummi, who died on Tuesday night, 1067/April 9-10, 1657 in Elmalı, is in the mausoleum adjacent to the qibla side of the mosque named after him.
