★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Silifke Castle-Mersin According to the basic findings, Silifke Castle, which is understood to belong to the Hellenistic or Early Roman Period, today looks like a medieval castle as a result of the repairs and changes it has undergone. There are arched galleries, water cisterns, ware houses and other building remains in the oval-shaped castle, surrounded by a dry ditch, built on a 185-meter-high hill overlooking Silifke. Famous traveler Evliya Celebi in his Seyahatname , XVII. He writes that in the centruy, a mosque and 60 houses. However, it is not possible to make a full determination as a some of the bastions and the inside of the castle are completely destroyed. There are 10 bastions that can still be seen in the castle. Please let's have these works and not destroy them for our own vision. Thanks.
