★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Şanlıurfadaki türbelerin en eski tarihlisi olan bu yapı, aslında dört eyvanlı kapalı Selçuklu medreseleri tarzında inşa edilmiş bir medrese yapısıdır. Doğudaki eyvanın alt kısmındaki odada Şeyh Mesut’un mezarı, eyvan içerisinde de sandukası bulunmaktadır. Şeyh Mesut, Anadolu’nun İslamlaşmasını sağlayan ve halkın mezheplerle tanışmasını sağlayan Hoca Ahmet Yesevi’nin halifelerinden biridir. Şeyh Mes’ud, Nişabur’dan Anadolu’ya gelerek halka İslamiyeti öğretmekle görevlendirilmiştir. Uzun yıllar Urfa’da Müslümanlığa hizmet etmiş evliyadandır. Yapının 100 metre kadar batısında bulunan bir sarnıcın yanındaki kaya üzerine yazılmış Arapça kitabede: "Bu sarnıc, Nişaburlu Said Hengel'in oğlu Mes‘ud tarafından 10 Receb 579 (m. 30 Ekim 1183) tarihinde oyulmuştur. Kim Allah'ı yardıma çağırırsa, Allah ona ve bütün Müslümanlara yardım ve merhamet etsin" yazılır
This structure, which is the oldest historic of the shrines in Şanlıurfa, is actually a madrasah structure built in the style of the closed Seljuk madrasas with four iwans. In the room at the bottom of the eastern iwan, there is Sheikh Mesut's tomb and his sarcophagus in the iwan. Sheikh Mesut is one of the caliphs of Hodja Ahmet Yesevi, who helped Islamize Anatolia and introduced the people to sects. Sheikh Mes'ud was assigned to come to Anatolia from Nishapur and teach Islam to the people. He is one of the saints who served Islam in Urfa for many years. In the Arabic inscription written on a rock next to a cistern located 100 meters west of the building: "This cistern was carved by Mes'ud, son of Nishapur Said Hengel, on 10 Rajab 579 (30 October 1183). May he help and show mercy to him and all Muslims "is written.
