Sidyma Ancient City

Right after the visit to the ancient city of Xantos, we stopped by on the way back to Fethiye, there was only a sign on the main road, there was no sign, except for that, there was no sign or road sign. There is no road sign again, there is neither a path nor a path. We've gone all that way for nothing. I would definitely not recommend you to go, the fuel is not cheap.

I chose to take this route while walking the Lycian way. There is not much left as an ancient city. There were 6-7 colossal sarcophagi, bath remains, church remains, 1-2 rock tombs and various debris. I did the night camp on the plain behind the sarcophagi. When I set up my tent and started drinking my coffee in the camping area, I was very impressed when I saw the stones scattered on the floor in old Greek. When I started to research the environment a little more, I started to see the remains of buildings, columns, bases and podiums used everywhere, and I realized that there were actually more than 3-5 sarcophagi here. The ancient city is a city that lived just like patara, most likely the people who lived in this village must be the descendants of the people who lived in this city 1500-2000 years ago.

It's almost exclusively for hikers, as it's not in a place where people can say let's go and see. That's why the destruction in the ancient city developed naturally because there was no malevolent person. When I reached the necropolis with the giant sarcophagi in the village of Dodurga, among the piles of ancient stones, where nothing but goats and centuries-old olive trees were around, I remember saying I am glad I came here. I also remember that the village mosque was built in the 1940s, and ancient ruins were visibly used in its construction, and it was quite interesting.
