Horror! Do not ever go there! AKA: Side Iona Hotel On 09/17/2014 we were accommodated in the Side Life Hotel (formerly Side Iona Hotel) in Side. After an hour and a half !!! from reaching the hotel reception, we received a key to a room on the second floor - according to the hotel owner - a "de lux" room. The front desk floor, seat and table top were very dirty. The hotel staff spoke English with difficulty. After reaching the room, the sight we saw was shocking. According to the offer, the hotel was renovated in 2012. I would like to point out that the renovation consisted only of changing the name of the hotel from Side Iona Hotel to Side Life Hotel. The standard and equipment of the hotel significantly differed from the offer presented. The hotel was devastated. The hotel room did not meet any standards - it had not been cleaned for at least several days. The "apartment" lacks: bed linen, towels, shower cubicle, drain grate. The beds were dirty. The air conditioning in the room did not work and it was moldy (sic!). After reporting to the hotel reception, after several conversations we received towels (dirty, with holes). On the same day, we asked for an immediate change to another room. We were given a key to the second room which we hoped would change our attitude towards the above mentioned. hotel and offer. However, another room was also below the standards of a 2-star hotel. We couldn't even unpack our things. We made a decision that the next day, during the meeting with the resident, we would file a complaint. According to the offer, the hotel was to have a restaurant, 2 bars, an outdoor swimming pool, a water slide and free - sauna, Turkish bath, darts, chess, aerobics, animations and all inclusive meals - meals such as breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea , dinner and local alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. It was impossible to eat any food in the place called the restaurant. The food was stale. Most of the food I prepared was dripping with fat. The meat was old, the butter was rancid, the fruit was rotten, and it was every day. The drink dispensers were dirty and fungus. The hotel staff was already bringing mixed alcohol in open bottles in the back room. The alcohol was watered down (sic!). Unfortunately, we ate outside the hotel. The sunbeds by the pool were moldy. There were open containers of sodium hypochlorite next to the pool, to which every tourist present at the hotel and children running next to it had access. We explain that sodium hypochlorite is a very toxic compound. It is a disinfectant, e.g. swimming pool water, with strong oxidizing properties. It is an ingredient of many bleaches. Pictures of the places by the pool are attached. The hotel beach was not, as indicated in the offer, 500 m from the hotel and 4 km away. Unfortunately, there was no transport from the hotel to the beaches and from the beach to the hotel. During our stay at Hotel Iona, the room was not cleaned even once. After 2 days of stay, we asked the organizer to move to another hotel. After a year of struggle, the organizer reimbursed us the cost of the trip.
