Serindere Kanyonu

You should definitely go on a weekday and take a walk on this track. Of course, August is a more suitable month... You cannot enjoy the weekend very intensely.

Friends, first thing I want you to know is that this is not a trekking area. It is a place where you can experience more survivors and see very natural places by fighting lightly with nature. The way to arrive is a very comfortable and hassle-free way, as the power station has been found. If you didn't go at very crowded times, you will not have any problems with the parking lot. Let me give you information about the route. When you park the vehicle under the power plant and cross a small slope next to the power plant, you come to the riverside. It is possible to see those who burn samovar or set up tents here. You will make the next path along the slight slope with the counter current of the creek. A fork will be approximately 600 meters ahead. If you prefer the creek on the left, it is possible to take a walk with a slightly steeper but calmer creek. But if you choose the right side, then you will have chosen the canyon, the waterfall and a route with a strong current. It is a more challenging route, but I say try it with pleasure. If you are going to hike on such stream beds, definitely keep your cell phone waterproof case, neck strap or phone waterproof bag with you. Make sure to wear a hat, the stream water is cool, but the sun can hit your head and you don't notice. Prefer swimsuit shorts, don't block your leg opening with hemp or trousers, you may find it difficult when you need to balance. Do not forget to have spare shoes, socks, t-shirts, towels, etc. for the end of the track. I wish everyone a pleasant time in advance.

When I decided to walk in the Serindere canyon, I drew a route for myself. I was going to start hiking from the point where Serindere and Yuvacık dam meet, cross the canyon and try to reach the source of the stream. I could hardly do any of it. First of all, I couldn't go down where the creek meets the Yuvacık dam, there are incredible cliffs, and the water of the dam has decreased by 10 meters, and the cliffs have become very frightening. I have seen such frightening cliffs in Artvin before. Most of the villages on the south side of Kocaeli, either from the Black Sea or from the Caucasus, were settled in a place similar to their hometowns after the 93 war. Returning to the subject, I started walking on the dirt road that runs parallel to the creek, the road split into two a few times and I always headed towards the creek, and finally I came down to the creek. Where I went down to the stream, there was a bench and a table made of tree branches, a kilometer before this place, there was a table and a bench in the same way by the side of the road. Thanks to whoever did it. When I reached the edge of the stream, I took off my shoes and put on my sea shoes. I started walking along the stream, sometimes you have to walk in the water, sometimes outside. Some crossings were difficult, the possibility of slipping on wet rocks requires caution, and small climbs are required in some places. I had taken walks in the creek before, but Serindere was the most beautiful place among the places I took a walk. I couldn't walk properly from taking photos and videos. Also, of course, your speed in the creek slows down considerably, you can only progress with maybe 2-3 km per hour. I came back before I could reach the trout facility on the creek, because I started walking late, if I had gone a little further, I might have been caught in the dark. I couldn't even see the canyon. I spent about 3 hours here, it was great for me. I recommend you to come to Serindere in the summer, it would be very nice to swim in the pools formed in the stream, I did not swim because the weather was cool. Arrive early and you can complete a long route gradually, like 8-9 in the morning, without time constraints. Be sure to take sea shoes with you, otherwise it will be very difficult to walk in the river business. Since your clothes will get wet, keep spare clothes with you, have plenty of food and drink in your backpack, and most importantly, do not walk alone. If something happens to you, it will take hours for someone to find your place and reach you.
