The mansion built by Selim Sırrı Pasha, the first governor of Izmit, for himself. A glance at the mansion reveals that the Pasha was a man of taste. At first, the location of the mansion is great, it was built on a hill overlooking the entire Gulf of Izmit, with a magnificent view. It was built on 4 floors, but the 3rd floor is not very obvious from the outside. The employees of the mansion were staying on the 3rd floor, unlike the 2nd floor with high ceilings, the 3rd floor is quite flat, so it is not easily noticed from the outside. The 4th floor, on the other hand, is the name of this glazed floor, which was built to be able to watch the view from all sides; To my world. Pasha paid attention to everything in the construction of the mansion, and the rooms in such a way that the harem would be a greeting; He adjusted the floor and size of the mansion, and even had the bricks of the mansion brought from Marseille. Under the conditions of that time, it was a big job and money to have a brick for a mansion brought from France. When the Pasha's duty in Izmit ended, he sold the mansion and left Izmit. Over time, the mansion was abandoned and in ruins, and was burned several times. The mansion was restored in 2013 and took its current form. With the restoration, an abandoned building has become extremely beautiful. I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who contributed to the restoration. If you want to visit the mansion, you can plan a tour to include many historical monuments nearby.
