This school, which started to serve in a building belonging to the Child Protection Agency (Gazi High School) in the 1970-1971 academic year with the efforts of the Association for the Establishment and Survival of the University although it has no buildings, classrooms, staff and budget. According to the 9th article of the Law No. Konya has received the title of State Architecture and Engineering Academy. The transition period from these three schools, which were the preparation stage for the establishment of the university, to a more effective university was realized in 1975. With the Law No. 1873 on the Establishment of 4 Universities, which entered into force on April 11, 1975, the establishment of four universities was envisaged in our country and Selcuk University was established based on this law. In 1976-1977 academic year, the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Faculty of Arts, 2 faculties, 7 departments, 327 students and 2 permanent staff began to operate with Selcuk University, until 1982, showed a significant development. Selcuk University was the year of breakthrough 1982. With the Decree Law No. 41 on 20 July 1982, the Faculties of Science and Literature, which form the core of the university in the first place, were merged into the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, the Faculty of Education of the Higher Teacher School of Selcuk, the Konya State Engineering-Architecture Academy, and the Engineering Academy. The Faculty of Architecture decided to convert the Higher Islamic Institute of Konya into the Faculty of Theology. Law, Medicine, Agriculture and Veterinary Faculties and Health, Science and Social Sciences Institutes were established, School of Foreign Languages ​​was removed and transformed into Konya Vocational School, Niğde Vocational School was established in Niğde. It was transformed into the Niğde Education Institute School of Education. Selcuk University, with the 4 Decree Law No.44 and, has reached the level of 8 faculties, 4 colleges and 3 institutes. By the end of 2000s, Selcuk University, which had a rapid rise in scientific, especially in the fields of physical, social, cultural and sports, increased the number of its faculties to 24 in 2011. However, with the decision of the Council of Ministers in December 2011 and with the approval of our President Mr. Abdullah Gül, Meram Medical Faculty, Ahmet Keleşoğlu Faculty of Education and Faculty of Theology located in Meram campuses in Selçuk University were connected to Konya University, which is the second state university in Konya. With the decision of the Council of Ministers published in the Official Gazette on 26 April 2013, Seydişehir Ahmet Cengiz Faculty of Engineering, Seydişehir Vocational School, Seydişehir Vocational School of Health Services, Ereğli Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences, Ereğli Faculty of Education and Konya Ereğli Kemal Akman Vocational School Necmettin Erbakan University; what is connected. Actually, it doesn't look like the Rectorate of most Universities. In terms of architecture, from an architectural point of view it is nice to say that a nice view. It is really nice to have a new building and a campus, and it is a really good idea to be able to walk more quickly because it is located close to all faculties and units. God bless those who serve this beautiful service. The only flaw I can say is that the transitions to the side buildings are from the upper floor. The Senate room is beautifully designed and useful. The design and location of the parking spaces are well thought out. I think that expanding with additional buildings, making ergonomic entrances will enable the transition from the ground floor to other units to turn into a more useful structure.

Selcuk University is a university that should definitely be preferred with its deep-rooted history and experienced academic staff. I recommend Selçuk University as a graduate of the Department of History and Archeology.
