★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nuh Peygambere'a ait olduğu öne sürülen bir türbe, Şırnak'ın Cizre ilçesinde bulunur. Tufandan sonra Nuh'un ilk yerleştiği şehir olduğu rivayet edilir. İl, Irak ve Suriye'ye komşudur. Şırnak, 16 Mayıs 1990 tarih ve 3647 sayılı kanunla Siirt ilinden ayrılarak Türkiye'nin 73. ili olmuştur. Aynı kanunla Siirt'in Eruh ilçesine bağlı Güçlükonak bucağı bu ilin ilçesi olmuş, ayrıca Mardin'in İdil, Cizre ve Silopi ilçeleri buraya bağlanmıştır.
Ağustos 2015 tarihinden itibaren Şırnak il merkezi ve Cizre, İdil ve Silopi ilçelerinde çatışmalar yaşanmıştır. Bu çatışmalar 3 Haziran 2016'da son bulmuştur.
 A mausoleum, which is claimed to belong to Nuh Peygambere, is located in the Cizre district of Şırnak. It is rumored that Noah was the first city after the flood.
