Sarissa, surlu ve sanıldığından da büyük antik bir kenttir. Yöre halkının buraya “Kuşaklı” demesinin nedeni de buradaki surlardır. Çivi yazılı Hitit tabletleri, hem bir kralın varlığını, hem de bayram kutlamalarını göstermektedir. Kazılarda açığa çıkarılan, kazı ekibinin “C Binası” dediği 76 m uzunluğundaki tapınak binası M.Ö. 1525'e tarihlendirilmektedir. Bina, “Hitit kentlerinde bulunanların en büyüğü” olarak tanımlanmaktadır. Mitolojide “Fırtına Tanrısı'nın hayvanları” arasındaki boğadan burada bir çift bulunması da buradaki tanrının önemli olduğu düşüncesini desteklemektedir. Yakın zamanda bulunan tabletler arasında 18 fal, 3 bayram metni, 12 dinsel kült dokümanı çıkmıştır. Hitit kralının altında kent krallarının ya da yerel kralların bulunduğu bilinmektedir. (Magnificent) Sarissa Ancient City - Sivas
Sarissa is an ancient city with walls and bigger than it is thought. The reason why the local people call it "Belted" is because of the walls here. The cuneiform Hittite tablets show both the existence of a king and the celebration of the feast. The 76 m-long temple building, which the excavation team called “Building C”, was unearthed during the excavations. It is dated to 1525. The building is described as “the largest found in Hittite cities”. The presence of a pair of bulls among the “Beasts of the Storm God” in mythology also supports the idea that the god here is important. Among the tablets found recently, 18 fortune-telling, 3 holiday texts, 12 religious cult documents were found. It is known that city kings or local kings were under the Hittite king.
