An old mosque that still retains its status and is characterized by Ottoman architecture

The mosque was built by Amasya Emir Şadgeldi Pasha in 1372. While it was a square planned and single-domed structure at first, another space was added later, and its plan was turned into a rectangle and covered with a dome. The mosque, where rubble stone and brick materials are used together, has a cylindrical minaret made of brick. The narthex to the north of the mosque consists of seven bays. The interior entered from here is decorated with pencil works. The domes are covered with tiles and birdhouse examples can be seen on the upper parts of the dome drums. The name of the mosque, which was originally Sadgeldi Pasha Mosque because of the one who had it built, has changed to Saraçhane Mosque since the era of Çelebi Mehmet due to the saddlery shops around it. The mosque has undergone many repairs until today.
