İçerideki sütunlardan birisi ters yapılmış ve bu sütunun da Ashabı Kehf'teki köpeği temsil ettiği söylenir. Araştırmaya değer bir konu. Ayrıca önceden bu cami Mevlevihane olarak kullanıldığı için içerinin şekli biraz değişik. Mutlaka bu camiye gelip iki rekat da olsa namaz kılıp oranın feyzinden, bereketinden istifade etmenizi tavsiye ederim.
When you enter the mosque, which has the tomb of His Holiness Shahidi next to it, a slightly different view from the usual mosque layout welcomes you. Camikebir Mahallesi'nde yer alan bu Osmanlı eseri, ismini Muğla Mevlevihanesi'nde şeyh olan Şahidi İbrahim Dede'den almıştır. Cami, kente tepeden bakan bir yerde konuşlanmıştır. Kolay bir ulaşım yoluna sahip olan bu ibadet mekanı, 1911 yılında Şeyh Cemal tarafından onartılmıştır. Şahidi Camii'nin bahçesinde Mevlevi zatların mezarları bulunur. Bu zatların Muğla'yı manevi olarak koruduğuna inanılır. Caminin dış mimarisi küçük ve muazzam bir güzellikte olup, iç mekanı ise bir o kadar mistik bir atmosfere sahiptir.
The Şahidi Mosque is one of the places of worship in Muğla that has survived from the Ottoman period. Located in Camikebir Neighborhood, this Ottoman artifact was named after Şahidi İbrahim Dede, who was the sheikh of Muğla Mevlevi Lodge. The mosque is located in a place overlooking the city. This place of worship, which has an easy access road, was repaired in 1911 by Sheikh Cemal. In the garden of the Shahidi Mosque, there are the tombs of the Mevlevi people. It is believed that these individuals protect Muğla spiritually. The exterior architecture of the mosque is small and of enormous beauty, while the interior has a mystical atmosphere.
