Very nice place to visit. You can go there by metro (M2) and bus (150). From Taksim it takes maximum 1,5 hours. Castle is open for visitors and inside the village you can find cafes and restaurants.

Relaxing place specially in summers. The nearest bus stop is kale caddesi but its a bit far from the actual fortress area so you need to walk (ramp). Taking kids along is a good idea if you own a vehicle. Nice picnic point. The fortress doesnt have much to roam around just a relaxing and calm place specially at the sun rise time (beaware of dogs in the morning ?). Overall a good place ?

Please, please, please!!! You have such an incredible historic place and I implore you to keep this place clean. I mean there’s trash everywhere, beer cans, food leftovers. There’s isn’t any trash can in sight. It’s our duty to hand this place over to future generations intact.

Another interesting historical place in Istanbul to visit. You can walk on the walls and check inside the towers. Also the area around is interesting to explore. Buildings that belonged to the Fortress. You can park your car for free directly in front of the castle. The view to Fener Tower, the village Rumeli and the Black Sea view were wonderful. We spend ours there watching the view. I recommend you to bring some chairs. Again people do not take care of this wonderful place and throw there rubbish everywhere. Please keep our historical places clean.

A ruins at the suburban area of Rumerlifeneri. Was rather crowded when I was there with many couples taking their wedding photos. Understandable why everyone was there because it was really picturesque. A pity however the site is very unkempt and not maintained--trash and graffiti around.
