★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Aksarayın merkez i Sofular Mahallesinde Sultan II.Kılıçarslan’ın harap ve metruk hamam kalıntısının yanında bulunmaktadır. Başköprü adı verilen köprünün güney başında bulunmaktadır.
Yapının kuzey tarafının temelleri, su kanalının hemen üstünde ve yanındadır. Bu su kanalının Selçuklu’lar yahut Karamanoğulları zamanında yapıldığı söylenmektedir. Bu camiinin ilk cami olduğu Aksaray'ın ileri gelenleri tarafından söylenmektedir.Ancak camii bir kaç kez yıkılmış ya da yıktırılıp yeniden yaptırılmış.
Eski Caminin kitabesinin cami enkazıyla beraber atıldığı, Kayserili Ahmed denilen zatın da bu kitabeyi üzerinde ayet ve hadis yazılı olduğunu sanarak aldığı ve evinin duvarına koydurduğu bilinmektedir. Kitabede; İlk Mescid 925 H-1519 M. Yılında Sultan II.Beyazıt’ın hükümdarlığı zamanında Mahmudoğlu Hacı Hasan tarafından yaptırılmıştır. Buna Hasan Rızai Mescidi de denir. Rızai onun mahlasıdır. Yazısı olduğu dilimize çevrilmiştir.

In the inscription; The first Masjid was built by Mahmudoğlu Hacı Hasan during the reign of Sultan II.Beyazıt in 925 H-1519 M. It is also called Hasan Rızai Mosque. Rızai is his pseudonym. Its writing has been translated into our language.
