In 1910/1911, it was opened as an official school for the first time under the name of "Çayırlı School" in the mosque in Ceyhan (formerly Hacı Yakup). His first teacher was Mevlüt Efendi. (Mevlüt BAYRELİ). In 1913, he had 3 classes and 3 teachers. In the 1918/1919 school year, he transferred from the mosque to the Armenian church and studied there. Again with the name of meadow school. The following year, he was transferred to the Himmet Baba mosque. The girls' school in the junior high school was moved to another building and Çayırlı School transferred to the old junior high school in 1923-1924. Güneşli school was located on the mosque opposite the current İsmet Pasha School. The closeness of the schools was seen as inconvenient and the Çayırlı school moved to the house of Kadı Ahmet Efendi, the bazaar guardians in Güneşli District. (1924-1925) Çayırlı School came to Doctor Mustafa Efendi's house in Tekke area after staying in this building for a year. On 12.10.1931, the Republic School was officially opened for the second time in the house of Kadı Ömer Efendi of Fesli (there was a supply school before). The school stayed here for 3 years. Again, it was abolished due to a shortage of funds. The branch opened to the İsmet Pasha School in 1936 (in the house of Şeyh Hacı Durmuş Efendi) transferred it to the current Republic School building as a new branch. Education continued in this building until 1961, and a 6-classroom prefabricated building was built by a company in 1961, and education continued in this building until 1999-2000. The new school building: It has 17 classrooms, one of which is designed as 1 kindergarten, 1 science laboratory, 1 business workshop, 1 library, 1 Information Technologies Laboratory, 1 teacher room, 1 multi-purpose hall, 2 dressing rooms, 1 canteen, and the education continues. It was built on an area of ​​3671 square meters including the school garden. Our school was transformed into a secondary school in 2012.
