★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This was truly a wonderful site. Lacking both the stature and awe of Ephesus, Priene is a breath of fresh air which allows you to wander quietly and envision a settlement as was. It's an active dig site with little to keep you away from actually seeing the work being done. Great views, an excellent odeum and calm stateliness await in the shade of the trees.
