Düzcü köyünde idarecilik yapan Ali Baba, “Eğer her yıl ‘binbir hatim’ okursanız, Allahü Teala bu memleketi hususiyetle zelzeleden korur” diyerek sahibi bulunduğu 8 köyden 4’ünün gelirini tamamen Erzurum’da yılda bir defa okunmasını ihdas ettiği ‘Binbir Hatim’lere vakfetmiş ve bu hatimler o günden sonra Erzurum’da sürekli okutulmaya başlanmıştır.
