The Church was built for the Greeks of Antalya to replace Kesik Minare/A Byzantine Church .There are hidden Greek writings near the door in the little courtyard in the back.There is a clock tower that people could climb up to but they closed it.There are 4 Angels visible on the ceiling which was painted over.The Church became a Museum after the Greeks of Antalya left and then became a Museum for archaeology and now is used by muslims.There are many parts of the building that retain secret traces of the church that are hidden or closed off.

It was built as Panhagia church in 1834. The building which had been used as a Greek church, was used an Archaeological museum between 1922-1934. It was transformed into a mosque by adding a mihrab to the apse and in 1958 a minaret was added to the southeastern part of the building. It has a rectangle plan and has three naves. The cover coat of which center is covered with domes and vaults, was covered with a saddle roof externally. It is a rare example in the Old town (kaleici) with its hand-drawn ornaments with the patterns of star, crooss, angel, stylize plants, etc. and combinations of different cover systems. The gathering place for wowen in the mosque which has two entrances can be reached through the wooden stairs in the northwest side of the building. There is the bell tower in the northwest part of the yard.Sultan Aleaddin mosque.

The Beautiful GREEK ORTHODOX CHURCH of Panagia or ISODIA TIS THEOTOKOU(Also known as PANAGIA) was built in 1834 as a Church for the Greek community of Antalya which constituted 1/3's of the total population at the time.The Church was the largest one in use during its time.It was dedicated to "The Entry of the most holy Holy Theotokos(The Virgin Mary) into the Temple"(Isodia Tis Theotokou) which is celebrated and commemorated on November 21.It had a very High bell tower which only its stone base remains from,the wooden upper parts of the bell tower were removed after 1922 when it ceased functioning as a Church.It was a Parochial(Parish) Church originally.You can see very little angels(seraphim) on the ceiling which were probably forgotten to be covered when the church became a mosque cause of their size.There are Greek inscriptions next to the southern door of the church .The GREEK ORTHODOX CHURCH OF ISODIA TIS THEOTOKOU(PANAGIA) became a archeological museum after the Greek community left in the population exchange of 1922.It was converted into a mosque in the year of 1950 and the archeological museum was closed and it was moved to a new location.The Church was built in the year of 1834. Many people are being tricked into thinking that the church was converted into a mosque in 1230 by Sultan Aladdin Keykubad. That is not true and you would see what i am saying if you read the sign at the entrance of the Church which says it was built in 1834 and that it became a mosque in the year of 1950.The church was originally decorated with elaborate golden icons which are currently at the Antalya museum .Many of the frescoes on the churches dome and walls were covered with plaster when the church was converted into a mosque in 1950.The building was originally a Greek Orthodox Church and no misinformation can change that.
