We were very much looking forward to visiting Pamukkale travertines but it is no longer what it used to be. All pictures show the pools full with water and this is not the case. Only few of the Travertines have water in them and by afternoon there are so many tourists that you cannot enjoy it. Entrance fee is 35 Lira (no credot cards accepted) and if you want to swim in Cleopatra pool this is extra. We did however enjoy Hieropolis ruins and the theatre but very disappointed in the Travertines. The water is being diverted so not filling up the pools like it should. If you are in the area you can go but don't make a special trip or take a tour. So many beautiful things to see in Turkey and this has been over commercialised.

Gorgeous scenery. Ovepriced beverages and food. Buy your own water in the local store for 1 Lira a bottle or pay 15 to 20 Liras in the park. Views are gorgeous. But not as epic as the advertisement pictures make it to be.

When you see the reality you realise how people are destroying everything. Most of the pools don't have water or are really destroyed...no maintenance of this place, most of the pools are not clean...is far from the photos that you are seeing on Google. My expectation was so high and when I've see them is was really disappointed.

A beautiful place to visit for one time.Great history of the ancient town and wonderful snow-white Travertines which make the feeling of winter outside) You can smear yourself with curative mud and enjoy the beautiful view of the mountain valley. The guide will tell you about the history of ancient town, you will see well preserved Roman theater and find Out why we sit on a diet. Definitely recommend✌️ Especially if you look for unusual Instagram photos.

Excellent historic place. Make sure you have an entire day to visit this white castle and Heirapolis site. If you are with little children then advisable to take the battery car for Heirapolis. In olden days it was a big city so the visit sites are scattered and would take hours to walk on foot.

Don’t expect to swim, and it’s a good experience Pamukale is very pretty but don’t expect to be able to actually swim in the nature pools. They’re for the gram only—as steady tourism has eroded the number of pools with water, which are now fenced off. We still really enjoyed the views and the ruins although the place was packed with Russian tourist who did not get the memo about wearing masks. I would definitely visit if you’re already in the area but it’s probably not worth a significant detour, if this is all your coming for. Also, pro-tip: you can’t walk w your shoes on the white rocks, but it’s quite unpleasant to do so with bare feet. So bring an extra set of socks, or hotel slippers and a towel to dry your feet!

Along with everyone’s else review, I can only say that yes this is a unique natural place, but it is not as great as instagram shows. It’s extremely hot during summer (40 degrees or more), after 2 hours walking around, I almost fainted. I would strongly suggest to visit during autumn or spring instead. Bring with you towel and shoes. Also this is a touristy area. During covid most restaurants are pretty much closed. At that time I was finding difficulty in finding restaurants that were open around.
