Orta Cami

Orta Mosque is located in Uzunçarşı between Rice Bazaar and Aynalı Kavak Bazaar at Aynalıgeçit (2nd passage). It was built by the benevolent Devoğlu Hacı Mustafa Ağa. The mosque, which is made of wood, has two floors. Under the mosque, there are shoe shops and springs. Its roof is wooden and covered with tiles. In the sign on the entrance door of the mosque, the Middle Mosque dates back to 1165 (Gregorian 1752). The building style of the mosque is masonry and the exterior walls are covered with wood. The upper floor, which is open to worship in its current form, reflects the original characteristics of the mosque. The upper floor also has a suspended floor. This mezzanine is used as a women's court. The main part of the upper floor is congregational, muezzin, mihrab and wooden ceilings and decorations remain original.

While I make this comment, I am working in this 270-year-old historical mosque and I find peace in this mosque. It was like that before and it still is ... The Orta Mosque, like its name, is easy to access, in the center of the city and in a place where the historical buildings, where trade has been returning, still preserve their identity. Right in the middle of the city ...

Whatever you can think of, the underside of the mosque has become a commercial house, it's a pity, it's a pity, they have done the worst treatment to such a historical mosque.

Sakarya is a city that is not very rich in terms of historical artifacts. The central mosque is also one of the rare works of Sakarya. I haven't been aware that there's a mosque in there, even though I haven't passed it for many years, until the restoration is complete. Considered to have a history of 250 years is a beautiful horse heirloom. It is a small worship house with a pleasant wooden structure.

It is our mosque that carries its historical features to the present day.
