Well, what could be more natural than the invention of the towel by Bursa, which is famous for its waters, fountains, baths and spas? . The history of towel in Bursa dates back to 300 years ago. Towel making was born as a by-product of velvet weaving. This beautiful initiative, which started with the production of five to ten towels a day in the primitive hand looms established in the early 18th century, has been developing for 3 centuries. It is useful to convey the role of Atatürk in the development of towel business here. Designer Hacı Hafiz sent Atatürk's portrait embroidered on a towel. Atatürk, who came to Bursa later, helped the local industrialists especially for the development of towel production and design. Bursa towels, which are generally made of cotton yarn, were woven on hand looms before, but with the efforts of the Towel Business Cooperative, established in 1941, towel business began to develop and expand with the establishment of modern facilities; Over time, it began to be produced by a powerful industry.
