Venk Suyu- Venk Church This place has an old history and is one of the famous places in Amasya, called Venk. This is at the exit of Amasya, that is, on the southern ridges of Hacılar Square field and at the foot of Vermiş Mountain. it is a beautiful and spacious hill. Venk, in ancient Greek, Hz. Mary means that this place is considered as a holy place by Christians. Until recently, Christians used to come here as a family to perform rituals, sacrifice and light candles and drink wine after a divine supplication. They have recently put an end to these traditional customs. Now this place is abandoned. Once there was an enormous shrine called Venk Monastery, the great vizier of Sultan Alaeddin Selçukî. Even though Vâzıh Efendi writes that he had the Gökmedrese built with the wreckage of this monastery after Torumtay Abdullah Pasha was demolished, this determination of the author could not be considered as accurate. Because the Gökmedrese building was rebuilt due to its current architectural condition; However, it is understood from the columns in the interior of the building and its architectural situation that the Seljuks made changes in its architectural form and that the original Gökmedrese was an old church in itself. In this respect, it may be thought that this place was the original church because of its proximity to the place called Venk and was later changed.

The church is really neglected. And in the candle burning places, people have broken eggs and there are big spider webs. At the entrance to Amasya, right next to the overpass, next to the bus stop, there is a stone stairway and there is no driveway.
