Heute haben wir eine Fähre von Fethiye nach Rhodos und zurück über "Ocean Yachting“ gebucht. Wir haben insgesamt 90 Euro für 2 Personen bezahlt. Als die Fähre im Hafen ankam machte sie bereits laute und unschöne Geräusche. Die Ausstattung im Inneren war heruntergekommen, dreckig und zu großen Teilen defekt. Während der Fahrt machte der Antrieb neben der ohnehin ohrenbetäubenden Lautstärke immer wieder noch lautere Geräusche. Nach 30 Minuten Fahrt viel dann der Motor komplett aus und wir warteten nochmal 30 Minuten auf die Weiterfahrt. Statt angedachten 1,5 h benötigen wir 2 h bis Rhodos. Um 16:30 Uhr legten wir nach einem 4-stündigen Aufenthalt wieder ab zurück nach Fethiye. Vorab informierten wir uns beim Steward über die Fahrtüchtigkeit der Fähre.Er versicherte uns, dass keine Probleme mehr bestehen würden. Nach nur etwa 20 Minuten Fahrt wurde dann den Passagieren verkündet, dass der Antrieb defekt sei und wir statt 1,5 h, ca. 4 h bis Fethiye benötigen würden. Während der INSGESAMT ÜBER 6-STÜNDIGEN FAHRT wurde dann noch ordentlich abkassiert für Getränke und Speisen. Als wir um 23:00 Uhr endlich in Fethiye ankamen beschwerten wir uns beim Manager des Unternehmens. Wir schilderte ihm, dass die Fähre bereits bei Hinfahrt offensichtlich nicht voll funktionsfähig gewesen ist und man uns in Rhodos durch Vorgaukeln von falschen Tatsachen eine Alternative Fahrt, welche wir dann gebucht hätten, verwehrt hatte. Auf der Fähre hatten uns auch Mitreißende erzählt, dass die Fähre am Anfang der Woche wegen massiven Mängeln nicht gefahren sei. Der Manager leugnete, dass bereits vor Rückfahrt Mängel bestünden hätten. Er verwehrte uns eine Teilrückerstattung oder die Übernahme der durch die entstandene Verspätung entstandene Kosten, lächelte hierbei noch hämisch. Es war offensichtlich für jeden Beteiligten, dass das Unternehmen Abzocke mit Touristen betreibt!
Today we booked a ferry from Fethiye to Rhodes and back via "Ocean Yachting". We paid a total of 90 euros for 2 people. When the ferry arrived at the port, it was already making loud and unpleasant noises. The interior was shabby, dirty and to a large extent defective. During the journey, the drive made louder noises in addition to the already deafening volume. After 30 minutes of driving, the engine stopped completely and we waited another 30 minutes for the journey to continue. Instead of the expected 1.5 hours We went 2 hours to Rhodes. After a 4-hour stay we left for Fethiye at 4:30 pm. In advance, we checked with the steward that the ferry was fit to drive. He assured us that there would be no more problems About a 20-minute drive, the passengers were then informed that the drive was defective and that we would need about 4 hours to reach Fethiye instead of 1.5 hours OVER 6 HOURS DRIVE was then still properly cashed for drinks and food. When we finally got to Fethiye at 11 p.m. we complained to the company's manager. We told him that the ferry was obviously not fully functional on the outward journey and that we had been denied an alternative trip in Rhodes due to false pretenses, which we would then have booked. On the ferry, people who were carried away told us that the ferry hadn't run at the beginning of the week due to massive defects. The manager denied that there were deficiencies before the return trip. He denied us a partial reimbursement or the assumption of the costs caused by the delay, and he smiled maliciously. It was obvious to everyone involved that the company was doing rip-offs with tourists!

The boat is the slowest from the companies between Fethiye-Rodos. It arrives the latest and passengers are stuck in the shaking boat until other boats passengers get over the passport controls. On return, instead of 1.5hours it took us 3 hours return. A note to the operators: please put an ashtray at the back of the boat as all cigarette buds are ending up in the sea, including the boat crew's.

The people are very nice. However: 1. They make you pay the port tax IN CASH. How can any compulsory government payment be only accepted in cash?! Is this tax evasion? It’s compulsory! They also didn’t warn us to bring cash, which is inconvenient for people leaving the country. TL is useless in Rhodes if you are taking the Rhodes ferry. 2. They made us arrive no later than 8am, whereas we waited in a queue that didn’t move with one couple behind us until 8.40, so we might as well have arrived at 8.40. 3. There is only one ticket office and you can only come there two hours before the ferry. That’s absurdly inefficient. They need to have handheld scanners or give people their tickets earlier so the process is more smooth.
