★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very beautiful monastery. Faraway from Midiyat center. Possible to arrive with minibus( direction midyat-idil) and get off on the highway. Then walk approximately for 3 km.
Entrance fee 10tl. A tour guide would be provided. Unfortunately not all parts of the monastery were open.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We were glad to visit a monastery for a change, so far east. But we were disappointed not to visit the main church, see maybe some ancient frescoes, icons... And there is no explanation in English, nothing, not even a little sign/panel or a sheet of paper and no guide speaks English (or German, French)!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Well worth the drive to visit this secluded spot. It was our favorite monastery on this trip. They were very nice in showing and explaining everything (though we needed our own interpreter for English).
