★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Bethkustan (Alagöz) Köyü; Midyat’a 25 km mesafesi olan ve Süryanice ismi iade edilen ilk köydür. Köyde yer alan Mor Eliyo Klisesi ise M.S. 4’üncü yüzyılda inşa edilmiştir. Köyde günümüzde yaklaşık 15 aile yaşamaktadır.
 Bethkustan (Alagöz) Village; It is the first village that is 25 km away from Midyat and whose name was returned in Syriac. Mor Eliyo Church, located in the village, is M.S. It was built in the 4th century. Today, approximately 15 families live in the village.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ -Güzel insan Gabriel AKTAŞ'a ve Bethkustan'a (Baqısyan, Alagöz, Betkustan) merhaba. Hala okula ilk gelişimizi, o ilk tanışma anını, daha sonra eşimle sizi ziyareti hiç unutmadım, unutmayacağım. Zaman ve imkan bulsam bir daha geleceğim.
-2001-2007 yılları arasında, Mardin İl Milli Eğitim Müdürlüğü'nde görev yapmıştım ve Betkustan'a arkadaşım Ömer NUGAY ile birlikte okulda göreve gelmiştik.
-Kilisenin ortasında o güzel ağacı kesmeseydiniz keşke. Mardin İl Kültür ve Turizm Müdürlüğü'ne başvursaydınız, belki de ağacı koruma altına alıp size de yardımcı olurlardı.
-Süryaniler, bu ülkenin güzel renklerinden biri. Ancak, ne yazık ki fazla tanınmıyorlar ve yanlış bilgiler var. Devletin Süryani dili ve kültürünün korunması için adımlar atması gerektiğine inanıyorum.

- Between 2001 and 2007, I worked at the Mardin Provincial Directorate of National Education and I came to Betkustan with my friend Ömer NUGAY at the school.
-I wish you hadn't cut down that beautiful tree in the middle of the church. If you had applied to the Mardin Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism, maybe they would have helped you by taking the tree under protection.
-Assyrians are one of the beautiful colors of this country. However, they are unfortunately not well known and there is misinformation. I believe that the state should take steps to protect the Syriac language and culture.
